The No Shit Sherlock

Hello everyone,

Since you’re new here and I’m new to you, I do believe introductions are in order.

Hi, I’m me. I’m one of those people who can’t stand all the insanity of the political arena these days. I’m tired of waking up, checking the news, and seeing blatant lies, exaggerations, out of context quotes, and painfully loaded language. So here I am, on the Internet, doing my part to combat that.

Here’s how this is going to work: once a week (school work willing) I’m going to put up a post about a political issue. It’s going to be researched to the best of my ability and as free from bias as I can possibly manage. At the end of each post will be my Rational Verdict. Again, being human, I can’t promise 100% neutrality. If you see something you take issue with, feel free to let me know and I’ll look into it further.

Social issues, economy, energy, I’ll be taking it all on. Want me to cover a specific topic? Tell me! 

Full disclosure: my personal political beliefs lie somewhere to the left of center on most issues. ONCE AGAIN: not promising that won’t ever taint my analysis, but I intend to leave it at the door when I start my research and writing. I do expect that on some issues it will sound like I come down squarely on the left (gay marriage will be one of those), but there will be others where I’ll seem rather more to the right (nuclear power will be one of those). This has more to do with reality agreeing more with one side or the other than with personal slant.

Alright then. Now that we’ve got that out of the way, it’s time for me to be your No Shit Sherlock.
